GEORGE D. SHUMAN is a twenty-year veteran of the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police force, in which he served as an undercover narcotics detective; a sergeant in the Special Assignments Branch, Internal Affairs Division; operations commander of the Metropolitan Police Academy; and lieutenant commander in the Public Integrity Branch, Internal Affairs Division. He lives in Pennsylvania and North Carolina.
