GEORGE D. SHUMAN is a twenty-year veteran of the Washington, D.C., Metropolitan Police force, in which he served as an undercover narcotics detective; a sergeant in the Special Assignments Branch, Internal Affairs Division; operations commander of the Metropolitan Police Academy; and lieutenant commander in the Public Integrity Branch, Internal Affairs Division. He lives in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. 18 Seconds was his first novel. The follow up Last Breath novel will be released on August 7, 2007.
